What It Does: Photoshop’s most common filters are the classic ones that come with Photoshop: Hue/Saturation, Lightness/Saturation, and Colorize. There are some cool new features such as the Curves Filter and the Living Colors filter. The Layers Filter allows you to manage multiple layers at once. The Image Processor allows you to do many of the same things you can with the Photoshop Effects filter but in a more intuitive way. Recentering is a useful function for those who like to do panos. Another nice feature is the ability to dump your image’s exif info, so you don’t have to remember what was done to it (like the date.) What It Does: The tools available in the Brush Panel are usually pretty self-explaining. The size and hardness controls help you to affect how much of the area you’re painting gets covered. You can choose to go over or under the whole area, or paint up to and including a certain area. This will add color similar to the area you painted over. Diffuse paints away color from the selected area. In UV Mapping mode, your selection becomes a giant brush that you may use to paint UV shapes into an image.
